Centennial Equestrian is a multi-discipline Riding School based in Centennial Parklands, just minutes from Sydney’s CBD. We pride ourselves on offering quality riding and horsemanship tuition to all ages and abilities, specialising in Dressage and Showjumping for our most competent riders.
Job Description
Due to one of our amazing instructors' decision to return to the UK, we are seeking a passionate and experienced new member of staff to join our small, close-knit team. As a horse riding instructor you will be responsible for providing expert guidance to riders of all ages and abilities in both private and group lessons. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our clients while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment- balanced of course with the welfare of our special horses and ponies. You will also support with general stable and horse care
duties around the stables.
Responsibilities
• Conducting individual and group riding lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of each rider.
• Teaching basic to advanced horsemanship skills, including grooming, tacking, and riding techniques.
• Evaluating riders' progress and providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
• Ensuring the safety of both riders and horses at all times.
• Preparing horses for lessons and playing an active role in their welfare
• Assisting with the care and maintenance of horses, tack, and equipment.
• General horse related cleaning duties.
• Planning and organizing riding programs, camps, pony parties and special events.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, parents, and staff members.
• Adhering to all relevant safety protocols and regulations.
What we’re looking for
• Minimum of five years of experience in horsemanship and horse training.
• Strong riding skills across various disciplines- the ideal candidate will be an experienced Showjumper /Dressage with coaching experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and working with horses.
• Working With Children Check and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
What we can offer
• A permanent, full time coaching position of 30-40 hours per week spread across four / five days, including one weekend day. (Exact hours may vary depending on the experience and preferences of the successful candidate). Applications for part time may be considered if there is more than one suitable candidate.

• Opportunities to ride and compete in regular competitions as part of the Centennial Equestrian team.
• Assistance for training towards your Equestrian Australia (EA) Coaching qualification if not already held.
• Access to top notch facilities- facilities at Centennial Parklands Equestrian Centre include two covered arenas, two outdoor show jumping arenas, a cross country area in the Centennial Park Equestrian Grounds, two lunge arenas and three all-purpose outdoor arenas.

Yard Person
As a dedicated yard person at our horse stables, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for our horses.
Your responsibilities will include feeding, grooming, and exercising the horses, as well as cleaning stalls and managing the overall upkeep of the stable. We are looking for someone with a passion for equine care and a strong work ethic.
