Centennial Equestrian is a multi-discipline horse riding stables based in Centennial Parklands. We pride ourselves on offering quality tuition to riders of all ages and abilities, specialising in Dressage and Showjumping. 

Horse Riding Instructor 

Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced riding instructor to join our small, close-knit team. As an instructor you will be responsible for providing expert guidance to riders of all ages and abilities in both private and group lessons. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our clients while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. You will also support with general stable and horse care duties around the stables.


Responsibilities
• Conducting individual and group riding lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of each rider
• Teaching horsemanship skills, including grooming, tacking, and horse welfare
• Evaluating rider progress and providing constructive feedback
• Ensuring the safety of horses and riders at all times
• Preparing horses for lessons and playing an active role in their health and welfare
• Assisting with the care and maintenance of horses, tack, and equipment
• Planning and organising riding programs, camps, pony parties and other events as required
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, parents, and staff members
• Adhering to all relevant safety protocols and regulations

What we’re looking for
• Minimum of five years of experience in horsemanship and horse training
• Strong riding skills across various disciplines- the ideal candidate will be an experienced showjumping /dressage rider with coaching experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and working with horses
• Working With Children Check and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed

• Access to top class facilities including two covered arenas, two outdoor show jumping arenas, a cross country area in the Centennial Park Equestrian Grounds, two lunge arenas and three all-purpose outdoor arenas

Yard Manager

Job Description

As a dedicated Yard Manager at our stables, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for our horses. Your responsibilities will include feeding, grooming, and exercising the horses, as well as cleaning stables and managing the overall upkeep of the stable environment.

 

We are looking for someone with a passion for equine care and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities​

- Mucking out stables and maintaining clean bedding

- Walking horses

- Feeding, watering, and haying horses

- Grooming and basic care of horses, including hoof picking and rug changing

- Cleaning tack and yard equipment

- Assisting with tacking up and untacking horses for lessons or park rides 

- Monitoring the health and condition of horses and reporting any concerns

- Maintaining a clean and safe yard environment

- Occasionally assisting instructors with lessons

- Handling horses of various sizes and temperaments

 

What we’re looking for

- Experience working with horses is essential

- Good physical fitness as this is a physically demanding role 

- Confidence handling horses on the ground

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Punctual, reliable and hard-working

- Working with Children certificate 

- Flexible to work weekends and public holidays as needed

- Riding experience is also preferred

Volunteers Program

Join our Horse Riding Volunteer Program and make a difference in the lives of both horses and riders. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with daily yard life while supporting our community.

​

Volunteers will assist with running our stables, horse care, and pony camp, as well as assisting with beginner lessons, whilst receiving education and support. If you have experience with horses and handling, you may apply as a volunteer.
